Coin Flipper
Flip a virtual coin and track heads vs. tails statistics over many flips. Useful for teaching probability, settling disputes, or making random decisions quickly.
How to use the coin flipper
Click Flip. Up to the last 100 results are shown along with running heads/tails counts.
Formula & explanation
50/50 fair coin via crypto-quality randomness.
Examples
Flip 10 times, expect roughly 5 heads — but variance is high in small samples.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the coin flip truly 50/50?
- Yes. Each flip uses a cryptographically secure random value, giving exactly 50% probability to heads and 50% to tails with no bias.
- Why did I get 7 heads in a row?
- Streaks are normal in probability. With a fair coin, there's about a 1 in 64 chance of flipping 6 in a row — short streaks are expected, not a sign of bias.
- How many flips are stored?
- The last 100 flips are displayed in the history. This is a session-only in-browser counter; results reset when you reload the page.
- Can I use this to settle a dispute?
- Absolutely. Each flip is independent and unbiased, making it a fair digital substitute for a physical coin.
